The NTSB released their preliminary report on a plane crash that left a man and his future father-in-law dead the day before Thanksgiving near Alamogordo.

The head of the Federal Aviation Administration said Tuesday he won’t forget the 67 people who died when an airliner collided with an Army helicopter over Washington, D.C., in January, insisting he won’t allow operations in the airspace over the nation’s capital to revert back to the way they were before the crash.

This year, there have been two alarming and well-publicized incidents: the January midair collision over the Potomac River between a U.S. Army helicopter and a commuter flight that killed 67, and the September near-miss over Long Island between a Boston-bound Spirit Airlines flight and Air Force One.
